Quality Education During COVID-19 Pandemic

The pandemic of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has caused an unprecedented crisis in all areas. This emergency has resulted in the massive closure of face-to-face activities of educational institutions in over 190 countries in order to prevent the virus's spread and mitigate its impact.

To date, the main psychological impact on public mental health has been increased levels of stress or anxiety. However, as new measures and effects are implemented, particularly online classes/modules and their effects on many people's usual activities, routines, or livelihoods, levels of loneliness, depression, harmful alcohol and drug use, and self-harm or suicidal behavior are expected to rise.

Many debates have raged over the resumption of classes in the face of the pandemic. Many are advocating for the education sector to skip the school year so that no student falls behind, while many parents are still curious about how remote learning will work. It's no secret that many Filipino students struggle with remote learning. Purchasing a laptop, computer, tablet, or mobile phone, as well as securing an internet connection, are not things that all Filipino parents can easily do for their children, no matter how much they want to. Many people lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic.
