Celebration of Christmas Season in its essence amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic

This is most likely the first time in modern history that we are encouraged to celebrate the season of Christmas in its purest form, in its simplicity.

We are preoccupied with rules on how to enjoy Christmas this year– with just members of the family who live in the same household, to continue wearing masks, to observe social separation, or to wash hands frequently– due to the attention on the Covid virus. For our mutual security and safety, we are being prevented from visiting one another. This year, we won't be able to enjoy the typical Christmas cheer and merrymaking.

Covid, on the other hand, should not detract from our Christmas celebrations! This Season, let us share more hope, peace, joy, and love!

This is where I am reminded of our Savior's birth. Simply said, it's a Christmas story. Only his mother and father were present when our Lord and Savior was born in a manger. A shepherd, a few animals, and the three magi were among his guests. It serves as a heartfelt reminder of the genuine meaning of the holiday season. We've all had a rough year this year, but we're still holding on to hope. God is with us, has always been with us, and will always be with us, despite all the chaos and dread that the pandemic has brought. The world's light is Jesus!
