3RD QUARTER: REFLECTION

Image
As the third quarter comes to a close, it's difficult to believe we're approaching the end of the 2020-2021 academic year. Even if the school year is approaching to an end, it is still extremely difficult and stressful because, due to the pandemic, we are currently studying at a different phase, online or modular learning. Despite the fact that I should be happy because, after returning from a much-needed break and passing three challenging periods, we will now enter the fourth marking period full steam ahead, I can't help but feel sad and anxious. On the other hand, I have to remind myself that I gave it my all and that's why I'm here.       The sort of learning has changed in the most recent quarter of ICT. We learned about community-based research in the third quarter, which we had never heard of before, but it is very similar to what we are learning in Research II; the only difference is that there are only a few parts to creating a ...

The Historical Battle of Bataan where Filipinos commemorates The "Araw ng Kagitingan"

The fall of Bataan on April 9, 1942  marked the end of organized resistance by the United States Army Forces in the Far East (USAFFE) — that included the Philippine Army — to the invading Japanese forces on Luzon island. Less than a month later, the fall of Corregidor, an island fortress across the entrance to Manila Bay, provided access to what was regarded as the finest natural harbor in the Far East. These twin debacles enabled the Japanese occupation of Manila from 1942 to 1945. In June 1945, the US Armed Forces in the Philippines – Northern Luzon (USAFIP-NL) led by Colonel Russell Volckmann and composed of five infantry regiments and one artillery battalion of about 20,000 Filipino soldiers defeated the Japanese army headed by General Tomoyuki Yamashita, the “Tiger of Malaya” and conqueror of Singapore, in the famous Battle of Bessang Pass. Located in Cervantes, Ilocos Sur, Bessang Pass was a strategic entry point to the Cordillera mountains. What is the significance of...

LENTEN SEASON

Image
LENTEN SEASON         Every year, the Roman Catholic Church commemorates our Lord Jesus Christ's sacrifices during the Lenten season. It is a Roman Catholic custom, and it is a highly special day for this religion. This day will commemorate Jesus' long-ago sacrifice for the welfare of all humanity. Many people do not look forward to Lent. Giving up candy as a kid or sitting through weekly Stations of the Cross come to mind right away. Words like "sacrifice," "discipline," and "self-denial" are frequently employed in ways that imply Lent is a period of suffering rather than grace and spiritual progress.         Have you ever considered Lent as a once-a-year second chance? Every year, the Church allows us six weeks to reflect on our lives and evaluate if our values and priorities are in line with God's purposes for us. Since most of us have strayed from God's path, Lent provides us with a second chance, or do...

Thematic

The global epidemic had a significant impact on the Vigan City Fiesta this year. They ensure that it is commemorated in some form by leveraging social media outlets, while adhering to health rules such as vaccination cards to keep people safe. The city government planned a low-key celebration, emphasizing the importance of social distance and hygiene standards. To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, everyone must follow all hygienic procedures. Hand washing, wearing a mask, and using hand sanitizer are just a few of the health and safety precautions that can be observed to keep everyone safe.        The Vigan festival is not celebrated in the same way as it used to be, but it still helps us recognize and comprehend the significance of the occasion and our tradition.
