KANNAWIDAN YLOCOS FESTIVAL

Image
The Kannawidan Ylocos event commemorates the establishment of the province of Ilocos Sur. It is a month-long festival that begins the last week of January and finishes the first week of February. It is the Ilocanos' way of thanking the Almighty for not only the many benefits, but also for the province's rich tradition, which includes deep family relationships among the Ilocanos.               It is customary for a mass to be celebrated at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral during the festival's opening day. It is followed by a parade around Vigan City of the Patron Saints of the 40 parishes as well as representations of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. Provincial officials from the Department of Education frequently attend. The Ilocanos' strong religiosity is on display at this celebration. The festival focuses largely on Ilocano youngsters. Thematic

The global epidemic had a significant impact on the Vigan City Fiesta this year. They ensure that it is commemorated in some form by leveraging social media outlets, while adhering to health rules such as vaccination cards to keep people safe. The city government planned a low-key celebration, emphasizing the importance of social distance and hygiene standards. To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, everyone must follow all hygienic procedures. Hand washing, wearing a mask, and using hand sanitizer are just a few of the health and safety precautions that can be observed to keep everyone safe.        The Vigan festival is not celebrated in the same way as it used to be, but it still helps us recognize and comprehend the significance of the occasion and our tradition.

Celebration of Christmas Season in its essence amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic

This is most likely the first time in modern history that we are encouraged to celebrate the season of Christmas in its purest form, in its simplicity.     We are preoccupied with rules on how to enjoy Christmas this year– with just members of the family who live in the same household, to continue wearing masks, to observe social separation, or to wash hands frequently– due to the attention on the Covid virus. For our mutual security and safety, we are being prevented from visiting one another. This year, we won't be able to enjoy the typical Christmas cheer and merrymaking.         Covid, on the other hand, should not detract from our Christmas celebrations! This Season, let us share more hope, peace, joy, and love!         This is where I am reminded of our Savior's birth. Simply said, it's a Christmas story. Only his mother and father were present when our Lord and Savior was born in a manger. A shepherd, a few animals, ...

New Year, New Me!

I've been writing in my journal with fresh fervor in the week leading up to New Year's Eve for as long as I can remember. I  make a list of the highlights and challenges of the previous year, as well as my new year's objectives, hopes, and plans. I make vision boards out of cut-out magazine clippings and Pinterest photos to find my ideal look for the coming year. However, I've found that giving too much weight to New Year's resolutions always makes me feel deflated, even if these practices made me feel prepared for the upcoming challenges and excited for new opportunities. The repeated comparisons and public exchange of resolutions make the new year feel like a competition rather than a thrilling, new beginning.
